…Working with Dawn was an absolute pleasure, and the results speak for themselves. I recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone seeking a designer who is talented, trustworthy, and truly invested in creating beautiful, meaningful spaces.”
Measured floor plans help establish scale, furniture placement, traffic flow and how each room needs to function before anything is purchased.

Flooring and countertops are some of the hardest-working surfaces in a home, so Dawn looks at more than color alone. She helps compare options based on durability, maintenance, texture, lifestyle and how each material works with the furniture, paint, fabrics and finishes around it.
Flooring should fit the way the home is actually used. Dawn can help you compare carpet, LVP, hardwood and tile based on traffic, pets, children, maintenance and how each material will flow from one space to the next.
Countertops need to balance appearance with durability and practicality. Dawn helps compare colors, patterns, finishes and material options so the surface works with the cabinetry, flooring and overall color palette while still fitting the needs of the household.
Lighting and accessories are often what bring the final layer of a room together. Dawn helps select lamps, fixtures, artwork, pillows, décor and other finishing pieces that support the overall design plan without making the space feel overly styled or cluttered.
She can also shop with you when it makes sense, helping you compare options in person and stay focused on what actually works for the room. With the larger plan in mind, Dawn can help you choose pieces that fit the scale, color palette and style of the home instead of making one-off purchases that are harder to tie together later.

Window treatments are one of Dawn’s specialties. Custom curtains, fabric, rods and hardware are selected specifically for the room and the architecture, with treatments made through a Michigan workroom. The goal is to frame the window beautifully while still allowing you to enjoy the view.

After more than twenty years working with furniture, home furnishings and custom window treatments, Dawn knows there is a lot happening beneath the surface of a good design decision. She understands how furniture is built, why two similar-looking fabrics can perform very differently, where material quality matters, and when spending more truly gives you something better. And she’ll explain those differences. The goal isn’t to push you toward the most expensive option. It’s to help you understand what you’re buying and choose the best quality for the amount you’re comfortable spending. Dawn also knows that too many choices can make a project harder, not easier. Instead of presenting an endless stack of samples, she does the research first and brings forward a focused group of options that work with the plan, the home and your priorities.
You don’t need to know exactly what the project needs before reaching out. Tell Dawn about your home, what isn’t working, what you hope to change and where you’d like some help.
West Michigan homes have their own rhythm. Lake views. Woods and dunes. Big windows. Families coming together for summer weekends, holidays and long dinners around the table. Dawn designs with those realities in mind. A window treatment should provide privacy when you need it without hiding the reason you fell in love with the house. Furniture should make conversation easy while still letting someone turn toward the water. Seating should work for an ordinary evening and for the weekend when everyone shows up. It’s less about designing for a certain “look” and more about understanding how the home actually needs to live.
Dawn works with showrooms, workrooms, installers, fabricators and craftspeople throughout the design process, giving clients access to products and expertise beyond what they’ll find by scrolling through an online store. When it makes sense, she’ll also visit showrooms with you so you can sit in the furniture, feel the fabrics and see materials in person before making a decision.
